IDSTL Advocacy Opportunities
We have a couple opportunities for Infectious Disease Society members, and we would like to gauge the interest level and provide contact information to the organizers of each opportunity.
1) A Missouri state senator, Tracey McCreery, wants to meet with infectious diseases physicians regarding current HIV laws in Missouri. We would like to see which members would be free and/or interested in meeting with the senator.
2) George Turabelidze and their colleagues are searching for ways to communicate with plain communities dispersed across the state about measles vaccination and ID physician voices could be helpful. They get media requests regularly, and involving ID experts in media interviews could amplify their message. We would like to create a list of members that would be interested in talking with the media if they are contacted again from anywhere in the state.
